Brousseau, Naftis & Massingill shareholder Matthew Naftis has been named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, which aims to enhance the rule of law and the system of justice in Texas. Each year, only one-third of one percent of Texas attorneys are invited to become fellows of the organization.
Matthew joins Ron Massingill, who was previously named a life fellow of the prestigious organization.
“Our firm’s values, and consequently my own, align with those of the Texas Bar Foundation, so it’s an honor that my colleagues in the profession have named me worthy of the organization,” said Matthew. “I’m eager to continue elevating the practice of law via the Texas Bar Foundation.”
A go-to advisor for small business clients, Matthew’s practice transforms to fit his clients’ needs. He handles real estate, small business matters, and creative arts issues from start to finish. Over the course of a regular week, Matthew may negotiate an asset purchase agreement, lead a deposition in a commercial litigation matter, or counsel a client regarding a business loan.
Within the Dallas community, Matthew volunteers his time delivering food, furniture and other necessities to local refugees from parts of the world ravaged by war and famine. He also assists Austin Street Center in real estate matters and serves as general counsel to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas where he has been a lifelong member.
Founded by attorneys determined to assist the public and improve the profession of law, the Texas Bar Foundation uses the financial contributions of its membership to enhance the rule of law and the system of justice in Texas. To date, the Texas Bar Foundation has distributed nearly $25 million throughout Texas to assist nonprofit organizations with a wide range of justice-related programs and services.
